Nominations closed, and Rossland votes on October 17

Nominations for Rossland's election closed at 4 p.m. today, September 11, and the City declares the candidates this evening. Rossland elects one mayor and six councillors on October 17.

The dates, if you are planning around them

  • Advance voting: Wednesday, October 7, and Wednesday, October 14, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • General voting day: Saturday, October 17, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • All of it at Rossland City Hall, 1920 Third Avenue, in the council chambers.

The City's election page holds the full list of key dates, the registration details, and the declared candidates once they are posted. The Kootenay press has been following the races since August: a sitting councillor is running for mayor, and so is a former one.
